We are delighted to announce the completion of our internal refurbishment, as well as our most recent addition of a brand new hotel wing accommodating eight luxurious deluxe double bedrooms that is now open. There are still exciting times ahead for the Mount Somerset with the addition of our brand new spa due to open in October 2010.
A gracious Regency Country House Hotel, cradled by both the Quantock and the Blackdown Hills and sits in an elevated rural position and enjoys some of the most beautiful views in England. It has the warm, inviting feel of a delightful, private country house and, having only 19 bedrooms, gives you the feeling you are staying with friends.
High ceilings, large windows and a fabulous, sweeping staircase create a sense of spaciousness and elegance. However, there is nothing cold or formal about the atmosphere. Real log fires burn, exquisite fabrics, chic wallpaper and stylish furniture add warmth and complete the experience of total luxury.
The house sits at the gateway to the South West. The wide open spaces of Exmoor and the Somerset Levels abundant with wildlife are only a short drive away as are the South West coastal paths overlooking the fossil-rich beaches of Charmouth and Lyme Regis. Glastonbury and Wells cathedral are only a short drive away also found nearby are an abundance of interesting attractions including Hestercombe Gardens, Barrington Court, The West Somerset Steam Railway and Dunster Castle
